Breakfast Club anyone? Love The Wind and the Wave‘s folk spin on this classic.
When I first heard Daft Punk‘s new single “Get Lucky” I wasn’t exactly moved, but somehow Daughter took this up-beat electropop song under their indie-folk wing and gave it the depth and intensity I didn’t know it had.
I had a really hard time figuring out which song to feature for the Ambassadors, but finally settled on showing their only official music video. Listen to everything else though; it’s all solid songwriting. If you check out their soundcloud, you’ll also see that they went awhile covering a new song every week, really re-envisioning each sound. Check ’em out:
This time lapse video was released today by The Made Shop, the design company that conceived and created the album cover for The Fray Covers EP. Accompanying music is, of course, one of the covers: a wondrous version of “Maps” by Yeah Yeah Yeah. I only wish the video was longer so we could hear more of the song. Seems like this EP has been in the making for a while now, so hopefully this is a sign it will be released soon!
Anyone can cover a song, but not everyone can make a comparable likeness that is just as enjoyable. Swiss Lips have made a sweet electro-pop version of “Lost” by Frank Ocean. Don’t stop here though, the Swiss Lips have their own songs that are just as worth a listen. Also below is a Silverclub remix of Swiss Lips’ “U Got The Power.” It was hard to put only two songs on this post so do yourself a favor and listen to the rest on their Soundcloud.
